Report: Five people are dead after shootings in Montgomery County near Philadelphia

At least five people were killed in shootings at three locations in suburban Philadelphia and a manhunt was underway for a suspect.

Investigators told the TV station they found the suspect's vehicle, and the station tweeted that a gunman was "barricaded" in the town of Souderton, where two people were reportedly found dead.

The gunman shot and killed his former wife and then shot and killed other members of his family at a different location Monday morning, the official said.

The law enforcement official initially said five people had been killed. The official later changed that to say at least four people were dead.

The first shooting happened just before 4 a.m. in Lower Salford Township, a community of about 15,000, according to CNN affiliate WPVI.

It said one person was killed in that shooting and two others were killed in Lansdale, a nearby community of about the same size.

Police had not released information on the identity of the suspected gunman in the suburban Philadelphia shootings, except to say that the suspect is a male, and a veteran of the military.

UPDATE 1:05 PM EST: The military veteran suspected in the suburban Pennsylvania shooting rampage killed his ex-wife whom he had been “tormenting” for years, a neighbor of the ex-wife told the Allentown Morning Call newspaper. Names of the suspect and victims have not been released.

The ex-wife has warned police that her former husband was going to kill her, the paper reported, also reporting that the suspect had been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Atention! Those reports could not be independently confirmed. Philly.com reported some of the shootings, but said police would not say how many people were killed or whether the shootings were related.
